Re: Superfund Proposal Plan - Lawrence Aviation

Badalamenti:
The Civic Association of the Setaukets is in receipt of the recently issued Superfund
Proposed Plan regarding the Lawrence Aviation site. As you know, this site has been a concern of our association for many years. The remedies described as Alternative S2 and Alternative GW3-Option 3 are necessary for the long-term safety of our community and the environment, and are fully supported by our association. The plan’s benefits to our residents, and to future generations, certainly justify the costs related to the cleanup of this Superfund site. Please note that the construction of the
Setauket-Port Jefferson Station Multi-Use Trail
is to begin in the spring of 2007. It is hoped that the remediation plans will not delay or interfere in this long planned
project.
